Donald Trump's choice of former Breitbart News executive chairman Stephen Bannon as his campaign CEO was always a controversial hire, and recently unearthed transcripts from Bannon's divorce proceedings are adding even more fuel to the fire.

In the transcripts, Bannon's ex-wife Mary Louise Piccard claims that he didn't want their daughters to attend a Los Angeles private school because it had too many Jewish students, the New York Daily News reports.

"The biggest problem he had with Archer is the number of Jews that attend," Piccard claimed in a 2007 statement.

“He said that he doesn’t like Jews and that he doesn’t like the way they raise their kids to be ‘whiney brats’ and that he didn’t want the girls to go to school with Jews,” Piccard said.

"I told him that there are children who are Jewish at [a competing school], and he asked me what the percentage was," she went on. "I told him that I didn't know because it wasn't an issue for me as I am not raising the girls to be either anti-Semitic or prejudiced against anyone."

As ATTN: has reported previously, Breitbart has published a great deal of inflammatory, racially charged headlines that do not exactly help Bannon's case.

Most pertinently, the site called Weekly Standard editor and Trump critic Bill Kristol a "renegade Jew" in a May story. For obvious reasons, the headline was widely deemed anti-Semitic.

In 2005, Breitbart described the number of abortions performed at Planned Parenthood clinics as "Holocausts."

In the divorce filing, Piccard also asserted that Bannon said he wanted their children to attend "a strict structured Catholic School," BuzzFeed News reports. This is somewhat ironic as Bannon is also facing criticism from Catholic groups in an unrelated controversy over a separate set of callous, racially-charged comments.

In a statement to Buzzfeed News, Bannon’s spokeswoman Alexandra Preate refuted the claims in the divorce filing.

“Mr. Bannon said he never said anything like that and proudly sent the girls to Archer for their middle school and high school education,” Preate said.

She also addressed a Thursday Politico story on a 1997 misdemeanor domestic violence charge against Bannon that included a report from the Santa Monica police department.

"The bottom line is he has a great relationship with the twins, he has a great relationship with the ex-wife, he still supports them," Preate told Politico.
