Saturday, April 29 marks President Donald Trump's first 100 days in office. While the benchmark doesn't have any constitutional significance, as NPR points out, the time frame — 100 days — is "rich with historical resonances, and there are two huge points of comparison — Napoleon and Franklin D. Roosevelt."
To mark the occasion, ATTN: Editor-in-Chief Matthew Segal sat down with comedian Bill Maher, host of HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher," to check in on the state of our union. It's no surprise that Maher, a self-described "good liberal," gave the president's first 100 days an "F" on both substance and style.

On policy, Maher points out that Trump is no different than many other GOP presidents — or even a Fox News viewer. But Maher worries about the president's mercurial personality, pointing to Trump's strike on Syria, which seemed like an about face from his earlier position on the matter.
Segal and Maher don't just talk Trump, they discuss Attorney General Jeff Sessions, political correctness and "kale eaters," along with what the Democratic Party needs to do in 2018 and 2020 — all suffused with Maher's signature sardonic humor. What is the "Got Your Attention" podcast?
If you've ever wondered how the staff pitch and select the stories that you read or watch at ATTN:, we're giving you an inside listen. ATTN: Media is excited to announce "Got Your Attention," a podcast where ATTN: staffers compete to have their pitches accepted by our host — while also unpacking some of the week's most important headlines.
The game is simple: Three ATTN: staff members — Senior Social Trends Editor Omri Rolan, Staff Writer Danielle DeCourcey, and Senior Editor Sarah Gray — pitch their best stories to our host and Head of Editorial Mike Vainisi. If Mike picks their story, they get a point, and the four discuss the story. (And follow those links to follow us on Twitter.)
