Rapper Fat Joe shared an emotional Facebook photo on Sunday of his firstborn Joey, who has special needs:

"I'm very private with my first born," the rapper wrote. "Joey is special kid full of joy and Love. there's (sic) no way you could understand unless you have a family member who has challenges in life. He's my angel and the reason for all my blessings. I Love him to death ‪#‎godisgreat‬"

Fat Joe, whose real name is Joseph Cartagena, received loads of praise on social media for celebrating his boy. Many of Fat Joe's Facebook fans went on to post photos of their own loved ones with special needs in the comments section:

Fat Joe, who grew up in the Bronx, has three children. He told UrbLife in 2010 that his parents helped him raise Joey and that his son's mother couldn't handle the challenges that come with special needs kids.

"When I had him I was very young," Fat Joe said. "I love my son dearly, but I didn’t feel like I was ready to have kids at the time. From time to time I told my mom and dad they should have educated me on the responsibilities of having a kid. He was a special needs child, I raised him with my parents. His mom couldn’t handle him, and instead of him going to a center we raised him all of his life. I had to learn the responsibilities of being a parent the hard way."

The rapper said his advice to a new dad would be to never leave his children.

"Just be a father, never abandon your kids," he said. "If for some strange reason you can’t work it out with the mother, then always take care of your kids and instill morals in them. Work hard to give them what they need and want, the most disgusting shit on earth is a man that child support has to track down so that he can take care of his kids. He’s disgusting and a piece of sh*t, that’s my opinion."
