Who in the U.S. Is Getting The Most Sleep?
By:
Sleep is really important for your mental and physical health. Most people know that, of course, but few seem to get their recommended seven hours of sleep per night.
One in three adults in the U.S. is sleep deprived, according to a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. And sleep rates vary widely among the states, the report revealed.
Here are the states that get the most and least sleep
For your best chance at a good night's rest, pack your bags and head to South Dakota or Colorado, where more than 71 percent of adults get seven hours of sleep or more per night.
But in Hawaii, only about 56 percent of folks are catching enough Zs.
Why do you need to get enough sleep? "Insufficient sleep impairs cognitive performance, which can increase the likelihood of motor vehicle and other transportation accidents, industrial accidents, medical errors, and loss of work productivity that could affect the wider community," the CDC reported.
